New Jersey, United States of America

Found on Flikr: Empire State Building at Dusk by pinhole

I worked as an Au Pair for 12 months for a family in New Jersey. A boy, aged 5 and girl aged 8. I spent most weekends checking out New York City. I loved the family to death and they treated me well. It was a very calm year in my life. A highlight for me was when I had relatives come and stay on various occasions and I was able to show them the sights. ie. Empire State Building, Central Park, Greenwich village, Statue of Liberty etc.

Obihiro, Hokkaido, Japan

Found on Flikr:Sunset in Hokkaido by Altus

Wow, when I think of this place it brings the very best and worst of memories. I spent a year here as a high school exchange student. I was 17 desperately missing my boyfriend in Australia, wanting an adventure but felt so very alone in a crowd of people who were very polite but never really accepted me for who I was. I learnt to speak Japanese fairly fluently. I went to school in those funny uniforms everyday. I learnt a lot about myself. Obihiro is very rural and very cold in winter. Minus 20 degrees in fact. The town is surrounded by snow capped mountains. I think thats enough about my time in Obihiro for now.

What is this blog about?

I had trouble thinking of a blog topic. So this it. I'm going to talk about some of the places I've been to and maybe some I'd like to go to in near future.
